Description

Worth the effort to find, this boutique winery is one of the few wineries that have their tasting room outside. (In inclement weather, they do open up the winery doors and invite you in.) The location couldn’t be more attractive. You take a few turns off Arroyo Road and then drive up a narrow dirt path and park at a salmon-colored house. Around back under the Chinese elm tree and vine-covered trellis is the “tasting room.” It is a little patio with a table or two set out with their wines ready to pour.

The family-run operation specializes in traditional Tuscan winemaking practices, producing complex full-bodied wines. Their 3½-acre vineyard grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Primitivo and Barbera. They take great pride in their red wines, especially their California/Italian blends. The owner is happy to show off the small winery, so just ask. If you bring some food or just want to relax with some of their fine wines, there are a couple of tables out under the trees on an inviting grassy lawn.
