RustRidge Winery Description

RustRidge Winery is located on 600 acres in Chiles Valley, a Napa Valley grape-growing appellation known for exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. The winery and ranch is only a 15-minute drive down the Silverado Trail; it taking visitors along the back roads of Napa Valley, past peaceful Lake Hennessey and far away from the hustle and clatter of the wine country. With a ranch-style Bed & Breakfast on the property, elegant views of vineyards, playful foals and ancient oak trees, and a tasting room that's pleasing to the palate in all ways, RustRidge Ranch & Winery may be a little off the beaten track...but it is definitely on the right track for wine adventurers.

The secluded property at one time housed a large thoroughbred horse ranch. The Meyer family purchased it in 1972. Now it reflects the current owners, Jim & Susan Meyer’s, two passions: wine and horses. They continue to breed and race thoroughbreds at their ranch and create top-notch wine from their happily situated vineyard.

The grape vines were planted in the mid 70's, the varietals being Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. Stan and Grant Meyer originally founded the winery in 1985, but winemaker Susan Meyer and her husband, Jim Fresquez, took over the reins of the operation in 1990. The vineyard is organically grown and dry farmed. RustRidge's creations include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel. The winery welcomes visitors to come taste their wines and say hello to their beautiful horses.

An Idyllic Setting
Emma Austen,
This estate is amazing. Not only does it have delicious wines, but a horse training center, where there are gorgeous thoroughbreds to go visit and admire. Truely an idyllic setting
