David K. Selby, M.D. (1935-1997) co-founder of Selby Winery, was a life-long wine lover as well as a gifted, nationally recognized orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery. It wasn't until Susie, David's daughter helped him with one or two wine projects that she seized the opportunity to get in the business.

Selby Winery is the result of many years of hands-on labor: in its own facility with a library of award-winning wines and a coterie of supporters. From their very first vintage, which was 150 cases of 1993 Chardonnay, they've been doing what they love.
