Shale Oak Winery was created out of careful respect for the natural resources on the west side of Paso Robles. Presenting a limited production of wines, the result is a holistic vision.

The Vision

With a keen eye on sustainability in every facet of our business, and adhering to the belief that form follows function, Shale Oak Winery was built by a carefully crafted team.  While each individual is a strong expert in her/his respective field, the group was able to synergistically come together to plan, plant and build a vineyard, winery and tasting room that would have next to zero impact on the surrounding environment.

The Vines
We have two estate vineyards, totaling just over 70 acres.  Both are farmed using sustainable practices, with careful attention paid to energy efficiency, water cleanliness and conservation, safe pest management and wild habitat preservation. We produce varietals that grow best in Paso Robles; Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Zinfandel, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot, Albariño, Viognier and Pinot Gris.

With a limited-production of approximately 1500 cases, quality is apparent in every bottle of Shale Oak wine.
