South Coast Winery Resort & Spa Description

Near the intersection of Rancho California Road and Anza Road is the dramatic edifice of this full-service destination winery, hotel, restaurant and spa. Built in the Spanish-mission style, this elegant resort has an extensive list of amenities for visitors, wine tasters and those looking to indulge.

To find the tasting room of this resort, look for the large fountain and head through the double doors, turning right at the gift shop. The large room has rustic beamed ceilings and a Tuscan décor. On the walls is a mural of the Temecula Valley and surrounding mountains. Look for the “bobcat” and other artwork and sculptures throughout the room.

The winery produces a wide array of California varietals under four different “collections,” which are identified by vineyard blocks. Sparkling and dessert wines are also made and available to taste either inside or out on their terrace. Take the tour for a behind-the-scenes view, from vineyards to crush pad. This $20 walking tour culminates with a private plated wine-and-cheese pairing.

There are 76 villas in which to stay on the property, and full spa services are available.

The staff was very friendly. This tasting room's atmosphere is very loud with young adults. It feels like you are in a bar and need to yell to your friend, just to be heard. The wine here is not very impressive but they do sell less expensive bottles which attract the younger crowd. The property is beautiful. When we went there was an ice skating rink where the pool was.

Great Port!
mpettis,
Here a few weeks ago. Had a very nice lunch in the restaurant. We then went to the tasting room which was very nice. Tasted some reds and the Blackjack port which is to die for. All in all a great time

Love the setting! Impressive Wines too!
reachmcneal, Temecula
The Bordeaux was Wonderful. The winery is very impressive. When I visited, the setting made me want to book a villa!! They are behind the winery and look very inviting!! The wine tasting was great. The staff was just a bit impersonal. The gentlemen who greeted us were indifferent. Michele McNeal
