Located in the heart of the Rutherford bench, Staglin Family Vineyard is a small family-owned Napa Valley winery devoted to producing great wines for great causes. The Staglin Family Vineyard has a 130-year heritage of viticulture and a rich social history, passed down by many owners through the generations. Farmed organically and solar powered, Staglin Family Vineyard makes wines that are consistently rated among the top wines in each vintage.

Situated under a steep hillside overlooking the vines, the winery's underground constructed caves minimize its impact on the local ecosystem. The caves were dug deep into the hillside so as to not disturb the growth of the old oak trees above. These modern caves provide naturally gentle storage conditions with a cool constant temperature and mild humidity. This allows Staglin Family Vineyard to use less electricity to cool the winery and lose less wine to evaporation in turn. The spacious facility allows Fredrik Johansson, the winemaker, the ultimate flexibility to tailor his winemaking techniques for optimized quality. 

Upon arrival at the Steckter House, which was originally built in 1864 and renovated in 2010, guests will be greeted with a glass of the estate’s Chardonnay. After an educational vineyard viewing and a walk through Staglin’s state of the art winery cave, the host will seat everyone at a mahogany table in the elegant Steckter House Visitor Center. There, guests will taste at least four current Cabernet Sauvignons wines. The staff is happy to provide information about the vineyard’s organic farming and the winery’s production process, answering any questions guests may have. Cheese and crackers are also paired with the wine at the tasting.
