Description

This is an eclectic, rustic specialty winery producing oodles of varieties of bold, fruit-forward estate wines. With the best view in the valley, the cozy 130-year-old bunkhouse-tasting room is a treat to discover and explore.

Story Winery grows 40 acres of Zinfandel, with much of it from vines over 100 years old. They produce up to ten Zinfandel wines each vintage, from White Zin to their sweet late-harvest wine. They also have a couple of acres of old Mission grapes, which they use to make their Red Mission and Mission Port. They round out their production with Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Barbera, Sangiovese and even some sparkling wine.

The tasting room sits out on a ridge surrounded by their long-ago-planted vineyards and woodlands. A great deck overlooks the picnic tables set up in their rustic park-like setting. Inside the tasting room is a hospitable tasting staff and many wine accessories, all jammed into the small space. In the springtime, the winery offers barrel tasting, and in the summer the winery grounds host musical events.
