Sullivan Vineyards is a small family operated winery, situated in the heart of Napa Valley. The Sullivan family has been growing in Rutherford since 1972, producing their first wine in 1981. Sullivan Vineyards is dry farmed, this farming technique helps create a wine that is big and velvety and gives rise to the estate’s famous vintage, Big Reds. The wine reflects the terroir of Rutherford. Jim and Sean Sullivan both make the wines and are now working alongside Ross Suillvan, a Napa Valley Native, whose winemaking philosophy parallels the brothers’: that all great wine starts in the vineyard, not in the winery. Currently, Sullivan Vineyards create limited amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay.
The tasting room, which is just off the beaten path of route 29, sits halfway down Galleron road in the heart of Rutherford. It is a hidden gem and cozy country tasting room, offering a relaxing atmosphere, great wine, and gorgeous views of the Mayacamas and Vaca mountain ranges.
