Talley Vineyards Description
Heading six miles northeast from the Village of Arroyo Grande you enter Lopez Canyon - the home of Talley Farms. The Talley family started their farming operation in 1948, and today second- and third-generation family members maintain Talley Farms’ international reputation for premium quality fruits and vegetables. In 1982 wine grapes were planted, and in 1986 the first wines were produced.
As you drive up to the state-of-the-art winery you pass the historic Rincon Adobe, which was built in the early 1860s and formerly served as the winery’s tasting room. Today a new tasting center greets visitors with its tile-roofed hacienda-style architecture, shady veranda, and lovely courtyard featuring tables, umbrellas and a delightful fountain. Lavender and rosemary plants mingle with the olive and pepper trees that surround the property. Inside the spacious tasting center are gourmet food items, logo clothing, pottery, Riedel glassware, picnic baskets, vineyard maps, and a large wooden tasting bar.
The bucolic view from the expansive windows reveals vineyards as well as row crops, and at times the air is filled simultaneously with the aromas of grapes, cilantro, bell peppers and lettuce. The wines of Talley are all estate-grown and include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Late-Harvest Riesling and a number of vineyard-designated Pinot Noir offerings.
Talley Vineyards also produces Bishop’s Peak wines, including value-priced Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petite Sirah along with their proprietary Rock Solid Red blend. Magnums are available for some wines.

Don't miss the Petite Sirah!WineHound, Arroyo Grande We recently went back to Talley to taste the latest vintages. We found a great value off their tasting list, a limited availability Petite Sirah. It was outstanding and only $25/bottle!

Definite stopkirkdicanio, simi valley Tasting room is very large and spacious, but busy so we just managed to squeeze in somewhere. The server was delightful, a real nice guy, wish I could remember his name. I know he had a broken nose. Anyway, he seemed to know a lot about what we were tasting. I thought the syrah, with peppery aftertaste was outstanding. I bought 2 bottles and he had trouble working the computer and apologized because he was new! I would never have guessed. What a nice bloke. The Talley chardonnay was really nice but a bit pricey so I left it. Had had my fill of whites, anyway. It's easy to get whites in Edna Valley, good reds are hard to come by, though there's some great Syrah here. All in all a nice place to come.

Talley Ho!James, Santa Monica Out past a lot of the SLO wineries this winery has lots to offer. It has not just vineyards around but row crops as well. The tasting room is very cool in an up to date Spanish style building surrounded by the fields, picnic spots, patios and the hillsides. Nice people and some very good wines. The Reserve wines are worth the extra.

Our favorite placeRocko, Los Angeles A wonderful place to visit and hang out a bit. The winery is out by itself surrounded by vineyards a row crops. The tasting room is beautiful, spacious and friendly, and they have a good selection of wines! I think the Chardonnay is the best. Buttery, fruity but not too much and rich but not overwhelming. Also the Pinot Noir is very tasty.

A complete wine experienceWineHound, San Luis Obispo Talley offers a fantastic combination of local farming history, a superb tasting and picnicing facility and a wonderful selection of wines. The Talley family clearly knows what they are doing and provide an excellent tasting expperience. The Edna Valley Pinot Noir was my favorite. As a recently new club member, I had an opportunity to attend their Wine Club party last night. It was a very nice event and definitely part of the reason why there is a waiting list to join the club. This one is a keeper!

Taste Talley!DivineWine, Rocklin The six mile country drive is worth it for Talley. The landscaping is beautiful, this would be an ideal place for a picnic. The staff greeted me upon entering and with a full tasting room, Talley seemed like the place to be. The picturesque view outside of the tasting room showcases lush green rolling hills. I learned about the crisp chardonnay and tart dessert combo and cannot wait to try it at home!
