The Dancing Fox Winery and Bakery Description
The Dancing Fox is an unique urban winery located in a century old restored brick building in the heart of historic downtown Lodi. They specialize in Cabernet Franc, Zinfandel, and Merlot. The tasting room includes a bakery and eatery with a wood-fired brick oven for artisan breads and pizza.
It is a family affair. 'Dad' has planted and farmed the vineyard for 25 years along with his three sons who also help run the eatery. 'Mom' is passionate about her breads which are made from scratch using yeast from the family vineyard.
Their wine making style moves towards big reds and smooth, semi-dry whites. In addition, they are the only winery in the area that produces cherry wine and cherry port made from local Big cherries.

Somewhat disappointedmikesq, Marshfield Dancing Fox has very enticing promotional material and we looked forward to visiting them for several months. We had hoped to have wine tasting and dinner on one of our nights in Lodi. Unfortunately the limited hours for the restaurant were not convenient for us, so we just went in for the wine tasting. The tasting room is around the corner and in the back. There is a small bar in a confined area. The server was friendly. There were not many wines to taste, however they did have a very sticky sweet cherry desert wine.

Buy a bottle -- have it with dinner!pragerr, Lnog Beach First, let's rate Dancing Fox as a winery. We mostly like reds, so we concentrated on those. Interesting discussion about the wines with our server at the smallish tasting bar -- we had the owner serving us. I preferred the Zinfandel; my wife liked the Merlot. We bought both, and will have to get more next time we're in the area. Had the Merlot with dinner (interesting restaurant!) with bread. We'll be back!

Great Wine and Breadfgodwin@aol.com, Burbank I wasn't excited about this winery from the reviews but it was fantastic! The wines are great. We got our pours from the winemaker. We were going to pass on the Merlot and encouraged us not to do that. He was right. One of the best Merlots I have had in years! I had given Merlot up. We had the cheese plate and were stunned by how delicious the breads were. We found out the winemakers wife is as skilled with with grains as he is with grapes. Don't miss this one.

Very Poor Servicechuko, We arrived at a not very crowded tasting counter and were ignored for 10 minutes so we left. The bakery looked great and we were looking forward to the wines but couldn't overcome the lack of hospitality. There were 2 seasoned pourers who were giving explanations to 6 other guests. Our party of 4 was simply ignored - not even a "be with you in a minute". I can really only honestly give a rating on 1 and 5 above - the other scores are only there to allow this review to post....

wineguywineguy53, acampo A great family run place with wonderful bread, food and wine. You feel like your in some european pub. The owners have refurbished an old brick building in downtown Lodi. I tried the wood fired pizza and loved it. My wife had the soup and sandwich combo, both were xlnt. After lunch went back to the wine bar and tasted some great wines, lots of varieties here. I loved the cab franc and zin the most. Don't miss this place when in Lodi.
