About This Winery
+ More
Unti Vineyards is a small, no-frills, family-owned and operated winery specializing in red varietal wines. George and his son Mick believe Dry Creek Valley’s climate is ideal for making full-bodied, fruity reds from Zinfandel, Rhone and Italian varietals.
The tasting room is a casual and rustic affair with art on the wall and barrels and wine boxes strewn about. Nothing fancy here but the commitment to Rhone and Italian varietals. They produce small lots of estate grown Zinfandel, Syrah, Grenache, Barbera, Sangiovese, Petite Sirah and a Dry Rose.
Sébastien Pochan performs winemaking and employs modern techniques such as long pre-fermentation maceration, using open top tanks, a basket press, and aging in only French oak barrels and foudre to highlight the aromatics and flavors derived from the vineyards. Almost all of their wines are unfiltered.
The vineyards include 25 acres of benchland property and 35 acres at the winery planted with Zinfandel, Grenache Noir, Mourvedre, Petite Sirah, Barbera, Montepulciano, Grenache Blanc, Picpoul Blanc and Vermentino. Biodynamic methods are used in much of the vineyard.
While tasting room hours are not posted, visitors are welcome to call ahead and set up an appointment to visit the winery. The tasting fee is complimentary.
