Vino Piazza Description

Spend the day at this converted 1940s distillery and explore the nooks and crannies, plazas and courtyards, wine-tasting rooms and food vendors that make up this most unusual visitors’ center.

Vino Piazza, translated from Italian, means “the wine plaza”. Twelve wineries are represented here, and are owned and operated independently, each with their own unique approach to winemaking. The spaces themselves are worth the investigation, as some reside in the old “vat rooms” while others are in the ancient boiler rooms.

The landlords are the owners of the Olde Lockeford Winery, and they also have a very worthwhile fossil and minerals exhibit, including giant research-quality caste replicas of a Tyrannosaurus Rex and a Triceratops. There is plenty to explore and plenty of wine available to taste. Each winery has its own tasting schedule.

Dylan, Ventura
I loved the fact that visiting this winery was like taking a step back in time. It was classic and there was so much to take in that I was in love with the area after only being there for an hour. I spent the entire afternoon there and still felt that I could return and see something new. The fact that there was a giant replica of a T-Rex was amazing to me, call me a big kid but I don't care that was awesome.
