Wildhurst Vineyards Description

Hurst is a Gaelic word meaning "wooded hillside" and "wild hurst" is the perfect description for the verdant slopes of Mt.Konocti overlooking the Holdenried ranch. Wildhurst's home vineyard lies at the foot of the dormant volcano's western exposure, and from the home vineyard the view is spectacular, rugged and beautiful.

The name evokes the spreading California native oaks that dot the vineyard acreage and the zest for nature and simple living that characterize this lovely rural area.

The tasting room is located in the historic town of Kelseyville. There is an extensive gift shop with an emphasis on home entertaining. The building itself is an historic Odd Fellows Hall. The place has plenty of charm and a knowledgeable staff.

The winery is best known for its Sauvignon Blanc but also offers Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Muscat Canelli and Port.

Great Staff and Wine

The knowledgable staff is what made this winery for me. I had a great conversation with a women working there talking about their Sauvignon Blanc. They said it is their trademark and I could totally tell why. It is really good.
