William Hill Estate Description
The winery and tasting room of William Hill Estate are perched on a hill with an enviable view of the southern Napa Valley. Not far off from the Silverado Trail, in the Atlas Peak viticultural area, is this prestigious Bordeaux producer.
William Hill Estate is renowned for crafting elegant Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot wines due to its exceptional location just off the Silverado Trail in southern Napa Valley on the Silverado Bench. The winery has been around for more 30 years producing richly flavored and elegant wines. Once classic in style, winemaker Ralf Holdenried has successfully transitioned their wines to a more refined and sophisticated style with fruit intensity and layers of complexity. Ralf's innovative and progressive approach to grape growing and winemaking enhances the unique style of their Napa Valley wines.
Three tiers of wines are made; Napa Valley Wines that focus on balance and made in a fruit forward style; Napa Valley Reserve Wines that offer more intensity and bigger structure and bolder fruit; and Winery Exclusives that are limited production wines available only at the winery and through their Club. By owning and farming their own vineyards they have been able to focus the winery on small-lot production of their estate grapes.
The tasting room is pleasant with props like aroma wheels and scent jars that give guests the opportunity to hone their wine tasting skills. The tasting room is set in 140-acres of Estate owned vineyards and guests are encouraged to enjoy the enviable panoramic views, and picnic under the arbor.
The winery produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, Chardonnay and blends. To visit William Hill you must first call for an appointment.
