Wood Winery Description
Wood Winery, formerly known as Wild Wood Vineyard & Winery, is a family-owned and operated boutique winery with its winemaking facility and vineyards located at the base of the Cuesta Grade in San Luis Obispo. Its newly opened tasting room and art gallery is located 15 miles south in the quaint village of Arroyo Grande.
The downtown tasting room marries fine art and Wood’s fine wines in a modern, relaxed setting. Handmade pottery, gourmet foods and original art coexist comfortably with the rich, flavorful wines. Special VIP tastings and events can be arranged in advance, as well as tours of their winery and vineyard.
The unique microclimate of the 80-acre estate creates ultra-rich Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker Craig Wood's focus is on handcrafted, single-vineyard wines. He also produces Pinot Noir, Viognier, Albarino, Syrah Rosé, a Bordeaux blend and a very mellow Sangiovese.

WineHoundWineHound, San Luis Obispo February, 2008 This family owned and run winery has found a great location in the village of Arroyo Grande and I hope they can be a starting point for visitors coming to the Edna Valley region for wine tasting. They have very quickly built a large following and have a very down to earth approach to wine making and selling. On any given day you might encounter the winemaker, his wife or her Mom working in the tasting room. The wine selection is very good and offers something for everyone. They share their space with an artist and the gift selection is much more interesting than many tasting rooms. Definitely worth a stop as it is right off the 101, Grand Avenue exit, second right after entering the Village, conveniently across the street from McLintock's!

In the VillageHenry, Pacific Palisades January, 2008 Right in the little town of Arroyo Grande is this new wine tasting room and gallery. Its a small family owned winery producing some great Syrah and Cab. The winemaker owner poured for us and he was great. They grow their own grapes in San Luis Obispo. We like the place and it was close to our diner spot.
