deLorimier Winery Description

Set back on the winding roads of central Alexander Valley, deLorimier stands out for its beautiful architecture as well as its abundant assortment of well made wines. Hand crafted, small lot vineyard designate Cabernet, Zinfandel, Malbec, Sangiovese, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot and Meritage wines are produced.

The three Alexander Valley vineyard sites of deLorimier reflect the diverse nature of the region from steep rocky hillsides, to loamy benchlands to the gravel soiled valley floor. Specific rootstocks and varietal clones were selected by deLorimier vineyard manager, Alex Vyborny, to bring out the unique identity of each site.

The tasting room is large enough to accommodate many people, as well as limo groups, who seem to be well at home here. The basic tasting fee is $5, with a $10 reserve tasting also available. The wines of master blender Don Frazer exhibit the characters of the estate, and it is from their three estate vineyards where deLorimier sources all their grapes. The grounds are perfect for strolling or resting at outdoor patio tables.

The winery was constructed with the blending concept in mind, and is equipped for the production and aging of many small and select lots. The winery's Meritage is their flagship wine.

Came up from the Temecula area, they didn't think much of our areas wines, but there's were very good. Different flavors than the same wines of our area spent a long time tasting and discussing wine. Learned a lot and can't wait to go visit again

First stop in Alexander Valley
rbeck40, San Francisco
I stopped in deLorimier right when they opened in the morning, as I was planning on an all day affair of tasting in the Alexander Valley. The winery rises majestically out of the surrounding vineyards and blends in perfectly with the surrounding valley landscape. The tasting room staff was available to talk and although not bursting with excitement, still managed to give us a general understanding of the estate's wines, with an emphasis on their well-known meritage blend. They also had a nice outdoor seating area, which I'm sure gets filled up pretty quickly as the day progresses. Nice wines in a very nice setting.
