Kukkula is from the Finnish for hill or high place which describes the incredible vistas from this 80 acre property. The combination of vineyard, walnut trees and olive trees provides a diverse landscape on the west side of Paso Robles, overlooking the historic Adelaida schoolhouse.
Kevin Jussila has been making wine since 1991 and during a 1995 trip to France was transfixed by the wonder of Rhone wines and began his focus on these varietals. Today Kukkula makes outstanding Red and White Rhone blends, using estate grapes. The entire farm is organic and dry-farmed for the ultimate quality in all their products.
Grape varietals planted include Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Counoise, Zinfandel and Cabernet. Kukkula utilizes the westside Paso terrior and climate in natural and cooperative ways, making the wine tasting experience more than just a sampling of wine. In addition to their great wines and olive oil, watch for a special walnut liquor they are planning from their estate trees.
