m2 wines Description

m2 is a dynamic boutique winery located in Lodi producing ultra-premium wines from distinctive vineyards throughout California. Since 1999 m2 wines have been created in small lots through a combination of old world craftsmanship and modern practices.

Layne and Karen Montgomery made their first 30 gallon barrel of wine in 1999 and met Chris and Diana Matheny in the spring of 2000. They made a single 60 gallon barrel of wine together that fall as a hobby, and that early collaboration went on to produce numerous award-winning wines.

The name m2 was chosen for the name of the winery because ... well, you’ll figure it out. Somewhere along the way the idea of creating a commercial winery came to life and m2 was incorporated in May 2004.

From stellar examples of Lodi Zinfandel to classic Napa Cabernet to exciting Rhone wines from the Sierra Foothills, m2 wines are created to fully express the character of the vineyard and the fruit of the vine as wine that is true to itself - balanced, complex, approachable and age-worthy.

The m2 wines tasting room is a informal cozy space where the focus is on the wine.

M2
beaupoem,
Small and looks like a warehouse, but friendly staff and amazing wines! Their zins are some of the best I've had in the area. Will be going back for more.
