Turley Wine Cellars Description
Turley has been producing big, lush Zinfandels from old vines throughout California since 1993. Its status as an ultra-premium producer of Zinfandel is no longer a secret.
In May of 2000 Turley Wine Cellars purchased Pesenti Winery, including its 80-year-old Zinfandel vines. Planted on rocky limestone soils the vines are stressed resulting in fruit that is rich and flavorful. Temperatures can drop significantly in the evenings and as a result the grapes ripen at a slower rate. This growing environment gives the resulting wines their intense concentration of fruit, color and full bodied flavor.
The small cozy tasting room is in a cluster of buildings. With its tile floor and wood tasting bar, it has an updated warm and stylish ambiance. There are wine gifts, including glassware for sale in their boutique.
In addition to their Pesenti Vineyard, Turley sources grapes from Napa, Lodi, and Sonoma counties plus other Paso Robles locations. To compliment their many Zinfandel offerings Turley produces Petite Syrah, a white Rhone Blend, and a long lived Italian red, Charbono.

First stop harvest weeklendEagle12, Chicago This was our first stop on Harvest weekend after a couple days up in Napa, and what a refreshing stop. We appreciate the freedoms that this area offers. The tasting room and winery is decked out for the fall and the staff was really nice. The tasting consisted of 4 Zins and all are well made. We like Zin and this is a great first stop. We purchase a Dusi Vineyard 2006 and it is not cheap but I felt well worth it. I would stop again in the future, a nice Zintopia of sorts.

Open Earlyvcgeno, Scottsdale Did not plan to go there but Rotta which is nearby did not open for an hour so we stopped by. At 9:00am the place was packed. We love Zin and liked all of their wines but did not find enough of a difference between their top of the line zin and least expensive zin to justify the difference in price. Tasting room is nice but nothing special and the staff was curious but a bit detached. Glad we went but it will not be at the top of the list for a return visit.

Don't bother!Glass Man, These people don't know what friendly means! I will never step foot in there again. Oh, how I miss the former Presenti Winery. Now that was great wine at an unbelievable value.

Pretty goodPaso_Zin_Man, Paso Robles Try the less common Charbone. You can try wines from other places here, which is OK but kind of lessens the 'winery' experience to me. Also they sell some knick-knacks which I'm not too fond of for a winery.
Don't get me wrong, it's a nice place to taste, just not in my top few favorites.

Fun PlaceaSLOgal, San Luis Obispo Not too keen on the $10 tasting fee since I don't collect glasses but the wines are worth it. Also pricey are their popular bottles, but again worth it... They've got some of the best Zins I've tried.
